Capital of the Ossau Valley, Bielle is located on the site of an ancient Roman villa, today agricultural land known for its famous sheep cheese, AOP Ossau Iraty.
Its 15th century church, classified as a historic monument, is worth stopping to admire its nave, its vault and its marble columns. Beautiful Renaissance-style houses decorated with sculptures can be discovered in the village along a “La Jurade” walking tour.
Children, for their part, can discover Bielle while having fun thanks to the Terra Aventura geocaching course.
Nearby, the natural area of Lake Castet offers beautiful hikes and numerous activities as well as the Pyrenees pass road, popular with bikers and cycle tourists.
