Bielle & the Pyrenees
The Ossau valley, a preserved land in the heart of the Pyrenees
Capital of the Ossau Valley, Bielle is located on the site of an ancient Roman villa, today agricultural land known for its famous sheep cheese, AOP Ossau Iraty.
Its 15th century church, classified as a historic monument, is worth stopping to admire its nave, its vault and its marble columns. Beautiful Renaissance-style houses decorated with sculptures can be discovered in the village along a “La Jurade” walking tour.
Children, for their part, can discover Bielle while having fun thanks to the Terra Aventura geocaching course.
Nearby, the natural area of Lake Castet offers beautiful hikes and numerous activities as well as the Pyrenees pass road, popular with bikers and cycle tourists.
During your stay, you will be able to discover the very special atmosphere of the picturesque villages which make up the charm of the Ossau valley: Eaux-Bonnes, a renowned spa resort and its panorama of the Pyrenees, Sévignacq-Meyracq, Laruns... From Laruns, you can board the Artouste train, the highest in Europe, for a 10km journey at an altitude of 2000m, on the mountainside, the landscapes are grandiose, a unique experience to enjoy with family or between friends.

It offers grandiose landscapes throughout the Soussoueou valley, rich in flora and fauna. The lucky ones will be able to approach the marmots
